WHAT IS THE
KOORI WAY?

The Koori Way is a statewide population health promotion initiative of the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) to help First Nations people in Victoria on their journey to quit or discourage using any tobacco or vaping products.

Our programs and campaigns are by Community, for Community, guided by several Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations to empower First Nation Victorians to self-determine their quitting journey and provide culturally safe, judgement free support

What can we do?

Put you in touch with GPs, Aboriginal Quitline, nicotine replacement therapies and other resources
Facilitate a five-week program for school aged students to discourage tobacco and vape product usage
Attend your event and facilitate specially designed community events by The Koori Way
Provide specialist support and advice for pregnant women
Design and implement population health campaigns and community engagement
Community Engagement with audio/visual systems to discourage using tobacco and vaping products

How to quit

There are a lot ways to stop vaping or smoking, from gum to patches, councilling or even cold turkey. No one person is the same, so choose the approach that will best work for you.
